The Chair introduced the new members - Wilma Jacobs and Norm Richardson - and all participated in roundtable introductions.

Election of Chair and Vice Chair:

 

On motion, Vincent Sowa and Maura Romanelli were elected as Chair and Vice Chair, respectively, for the term ending December 31, 2025.

Proposed messaging re: urgent need for resourcing and strategic planning for Burlington's rural/ agricultural area

 
  • Members reviewed the Chair's draft letter to the mayor, rural councillors and CAO regarding the urgent need for resourcing and strategic planning for Burlington's rural/agricultural area and made some suggestions.
  • The Chair will update the letter based on discussion and present final draft in February.

  • Members reviewed the 2024 Annual Report. Motion - Approve BARAAC's 2024 Annual Report. CARRIED

2025 Workplan/Budget

 
  • Members discussed BARAAC's 2025 workplan and budget. Motion - Approve the 2025 BARAAC workplan and budget. CARRIED

  • Larry expressed concern with recent hydro outages in the rural area without any notifications. Action - Larry will reach out to Burlington Hydro to find out if there is a schedule of outages that can be provided to property owners.
