The Land Acknowledgement was read.

A flag raising at City Hall is planned for December 3, 2024 at 8:30 a.m.  Don sent out information regarding the flag raising to the Amputee group he is a part of as well as the Special Olympians.  Don to send information about the Special Olympians attending to Suzanne so that information can be provided to the Mayor.

The committee decided to have a social meeting in December.  The date will be December 12, at 6:30 p.m., Suzanne to book a location.

Judi provided a draft of the Multi-year Accessibility Plan to committee members earlier in the week asking for feedback.  Judi asked if member had any comments or if anything was missing from the report.  Judi is still waiting for some staff to help populate goals and targets in the plan.  There is still time to provide comments to Judi.  The plan will be going to Council via the Council Information Package prior to the end of December.

Garth led the committee through a presentation regarding the development of the 2025 workplan including what has been done to date, current state and next steps.  Committee members asked questions and provided feedback on the workplan presented.  Garth, Jill and David will make edits to the plan and present it at the January meeting for final approval.

Don pointed out that there is a Public Information Session regarding the Downtown Parking Plan on November 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Burlington Art Gallery.

Jill provided the following update to the committee:

  • Kalyan presented the Downtown Parking Plan, Jill was able to provide the comments and feedback that this committee had.  BSAC is planning on reviewing the comments that BAAC are providing and potentially endorsing them once they have fully reviewed them. 

Don provided the following updates to the committee:

  • Transportation staff attended and provided information about the Downtown Parking Plan
  • Discussed the 2025 workplan

Pat provided the following updates to the committee:

  • Pat asked about a CNIBC card being enough documentation to qualify for specialized transit. She was told that the process is outsourced to a third company and that all busses are accessible
  • 6 new specialized transit vehicles from 17 million dollar grant from the provincial government 
  • improvements to digital signage at bus stops is planned
