On motion the minutes from the meeting held April 21, 2021 were approved.

Kaylan provided a presentation (attached) to the committee regarding the Integrated Mobility Plan and answered questions from committee members.

On motion the committee comments regarding the zero waste policy were approved.

The committee had a few comments/edits/additions for the comments.  Dave will make changes to the document for circulation and approval by the committee via email before the deadline to submit comments.

Councillor Sharman provided the following updates:

  • at the last cycle of standing committee meetings members approved a lobbyist registry and deferred the Private City Tree By-Law to the June EICS meeting.

Lynn provided the following updates:

  • the Climate Action Plan update report will be going to the June 10 EICS committee meeting
  • an update report for corporate emissions will be going to committee on July 8 EICS committee meeting
  • staff was looking for a representative from SDC for a stakeholder committee regarding the Climate Adaptation Plan, Anne Hammill will represent SDC on the stakeholder committee as she had previously expressed interest in participating

Laura provided the following updates:

  • suggested that the housing strategy draft engagement plan be discussed at the June SDC meeting, or at the next P&D subcommittee meeting
  • there is an MTSA Council Workshop on Monday May 17, 2021 for those that want to watch it will be live streamed

On motion, the 2021 workplan with budget request was approved.

Dave provided the following updates:

  • the majority of the subcommittee meeting was spent discussing development review processes - Kyle Plas (Coordinator of Development Review with the City of Burlington) gave a prestation on development review timelines and processes, discussed how SDC could best engage in the process, difficult for SDC to review all development applications so the subcommittee spoke of developing criteria to determine which applications should be reviewed by SDC
  • other ideas included assigning captains for each ward to watch for what is coming and developing an introduction letter to hand out at community meetings
  • Paul set up a sharepoint account for the subcommittee to use to provide feedback on shared documents, Paul will invite the entire committee to the one drive location, members that are not on the P&D subcommittee will have read only access

Susan provided the following updates:

  • the electric vehicle event hosted by the library - could your next car be electric? -  has 14 spots available
  • Fleur and Lynn will be speaking with their counterparts in Oakville regarding the use of the Goose Chase app
  • discussion around hosting a webinar in the fall focusing on the 'the use of plastics'
  • guest speaker suggested was author Charles Marohn, could potentially do a joint session with ITAC

No update as there has not been a meeting.

Tim provided the following updates:

  • completed the workplan for ITAC at the last meeting
  • Kaylan Edgcumbe provided a presentation and answered questions regarding the Integrated Mobility Plan
  • June is Bike month, lots of events planned to promote cycling
  • Burlington Transit will be doing a pilot project for on demand transit services
